The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager – cairns and based in Cairns, the Customer Account Managerwill be responsible for leading a team of service technician and effectively managing a variety of Customer Accounts. Their primary objective is to ensure that VAE Group not only meet all contractual requirements but also consistently deliver our promise of "Built in Certainty" to customers.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Manage a portfolio of Customer Accounts
• Assist client with managing electrical, automation and mechanical capex budgets
• Lead and provide technical support to a team of Mechanical Service Technicians
• Perform and supervise general electrical installation, inspection and maintenance
• Provide quotations for service jobs or installation works
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to increase customer’s satisfaction
• Identify potential opportunities & trends for our service business improvement and growth
• Assist in the coaching and developing of staff

Successful candidate will demonstrate their experience in a similar management role, or knowledge of the mechanical service market, an understanding of the challenges of working in a dynamic and fast-growing business, and the following attribute:

• Possess relevant State and National Trade Licences (including but not limited to Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licences, Construction Licences, etc.)
• Possess a valid Driver’s Licence doe the state of employment
• An understanding of engineering standards applicable to the role
• An understanding of pricing and estimation
• Good written & verbal communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Good negotiation & influencing skills
• Competent project management skills
• Financial competency
• Exceptional time management
• Ability to work under pressure
