Job description

Customer Service Officer

Position No: Pool Ref 00981 Level/Salary: Level 2, $70,432 - $75,516 p.a. (PSCSAA 2022) Work Type: Permanent - Full Time, Fixed Term - Full Time Branch: Cockburn Police Station Location: Cockburn Closing Date: 2024-04-15 4:00 PM

This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00981). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities.

This shift work position operates on a rotational roster basis and includes day, evening, afternoon, weekend and public holiday shifts.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This role contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the Cockburn Police Station (South Metropolitan area) by undertaking a broad range of Customer Service duties and providing administrative support.

This is team focussed position, overseeing the front counter, face-to-face and telephone enquiries and liaising with the Police Officers and Sergeants. It is a dynamic and varied role and the recommended applicant will be expected to work a variety of shifts including afternoon, evening and weekends.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please ensure you complete, sign and scan the Integrity Check Consent Form (refer attached) and submit it along with your application (the Integrity Check Consent Form is not required for current WA Police Force employees).

Applicants are not required to address the work related requirements at this stage of the selection process.

Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

It is important to note that your CV should be tailored to clearly outline that you possess transferrable skills and experience relevant to the advertised role. Your ability to demonstrate this will be a key factor in determining whether you are competitive.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

OTHER CONDITIONS

In addition to the above mentioned vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as 'suitable' at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.

Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.

Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
