Customer Service Officer-Local Government
Location: Various Locations
Contract Start dates: ASAP
Contract end date: 1-2 months with possible extension
Pay rate: $37-$40 an hour + Super
Hours: Full time
We are currently looking for Customer Service and officer on a temporary basis.
The candidate we are looking for must have previous Local Government experience or have worked within government related services. With well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups. You must be comfortable handling all customers in a professional, efficient and friendly manner, supporting Council's customer focused approach to its service provision.
This key Customer Service role assists in the provision of information to the public on all functions of the business and responding to routine telephone and counter enquiries politely, efficiently, and promptly, and must meet the essential requirements of the position with a strong emphasis on the following:
Key responsibilities:
- Providing high level Customer Service to the residents of the community
- Answering phone calls and transferring to the relevant departments
- Completing document management processes as guided
- Adhoc administration to support business activities
Requirements:
- Experience in Customer Service roles in an office environment (12 months minimum)
- High level of communication skills - verbal and written
- Previous relevant experience in a customer facing role
- Good organizational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to effectively prioritise tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to utilise personal computer applications and in particular, the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e. Word, Excel) and experience with computerized accounting systems.
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate
Desirable:
- Previous relevant Local Government experience
- Enthusiasm and result-driven attitude
- High level organisational and time management skills
