The Cyber Security Consulting Manager assumes a key position in guiding the Cyber Security initiatives of the organization. Taking charge of delivering vital perspectives to ongoing endeavors, this pivotal position enables the best results by leading a small team and acting as the 2IC to the Director of Security. The organisation has over 10,000 staff and has an excellent reputation in Australia, as well as globally.
This is one of a number of newly created Cyber Security positions within this organization in the last 3-4 months, tying into a large-scale Security maturity uplift program with an 8 figure investment behind it - demonstrating the organization’s commitment to improvement. This role is responsible for directly managing a team of 2 Security professionals initially and is therefore suitable to someone who still enjoys being closely involved in projects and digging into the detail.
Responsibilities and accountability:
- Direct people management of initially 2 Security professionals
- Lead and oversee ongoing Cyber Security engagements, ensuring this aligns with the organization's objectives and results in optimal Cyber Security outcomes
- Ensure Cyber Security advice and recommendations are aligned with the unique needs and environment of the organization
- Identify and address legacy technologies and practices that may pose security risks, driving the adoption of innovative and up-to-date solutions to enhance Cyber Security
- Work closely with Cyber Security Leadership team to support and deliver the long-term strategic roadmap for Cyber Security program
- Take a proactive stance in identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities, developing and implementing preventive measures to enhance Cyber Security readiness
Desired experience & traits:
- You are currently or have previously been a Cyber Security practitioner at a senior level
- Well-demonstrated expertise in Cyber Security principles, practices, and technologies, with a track record of successfully leading and advising on Cyber Security initiatives in a complex organizational setting
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of Cyber Security consultants effectively including hiring, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive Cyber Security strategies that align with the organization's goals and adapt to evolving threats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex Cyber Security concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders
