DAIRY FARM MANAGER - ECHUCA
We are a dedicated and passionate family-owned DAIRY FARM near Nanneella in norther Victoria, operating with a herd of 400-500 cows. Committed to profitability, sustainability and the well-being of our animals, we are seeking a proactive Dairy Farm Manager to join our business. The manager will be working closely alongside the farm owner and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our partial mixed rotion and grazing farm, overseeing and participating in a mix of hands-on farm work and staff management.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of daily farm operations, including animal care, milking, feeding, machinery operation and grazing. Ensure adherence to high standards of animal welfare, efficiency and safety.
- Staff Management: Foster positive and productive team environment while managing staff schedules and assignments.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Collaborate with the farm owners to provide input into strategic management decisions. Demonstrate leadership in implementing agreed-upon strategies and initiatives.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records related to farm operation such as herd health and reproduction.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in managing a DAIRY FARM, with focus on hands-on farm work and staff management.
- Strong understanding of DAIRY FARMing practices, animal husbandry and farm management software.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills must speak English, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Ability to balance hands-on farm work with managerial responsibilities, demonstrating adaptability and effective time management.
- A genuine passion for sustainable farming, animal welfare and safety.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
