The Role
We are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to be based in the Woodside/Sale area of Central Gippsland to manage the farm with a livestock enterprise focusing on wool and beef production and pivot irrigation for fodder production and livestock finishing.
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the position will ideally suit a self-motivated individual seeking to be part of a dynamic team and looking to extend their skills into a position with operational, financial and people responsibilities. This position would be an integral member of the management team, working with the portfolio manager and the farm owner to achieve the objectives of the business and develop the asset in accordance with the long term goals for the property.
Role requirements
- Must have experience in sheep (Merino) and cattle (Angus) and some experience with irrigation would be preferable however not essential.
- Superior livestock skills including quality working dogs.
- This is an excellent opportunity to improve livestock skills and develop working dogs on a large scale, high stocking rate mixed farming property.
- Experience in farm maintenance and machinery operation.
- Demonstrate experience with pasture and grazing management.
- Sound knowledge of computers and able to complete administrative and reporting tasks as required.
- Sound understanding of safe work practices with a strong focus on best practice safety standards.
- Be confident in managing staff with daily allocation of tasks and duties.
- Able to drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

- Be physically fit and able to fulfill all requirements of the role.
- Have good working dogs and excellent stock handling skills.
- Hold current drivers’ licence.
- Be able to work flexible hours.
