Why this role matters The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
The Canberra Recovery Hub (CRH), a community-based day program, at Braddon Salvos, provides non-abstinence-based AOD community-based treatment. About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive
Case Worker to provide targeted intervention and support for Drug and Alcohol Sentencing List (DASL) participants engaged in the Canberra Recovery Hub day program. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a Maximum-Term (12 months with potential to extend), Full-Time role based in in the Canberra Recovery Services Centre in Fyshwick, ACT. The Day Program is based in Braddon, ACT.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 4. You will successfully Provide efficient day to day service delivery within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment. Provide Risk management and safety planning working closely with local providers.
Provide Case Management with individualised care plans focusing on recovery and demonstrate a supportive approach to all participants. Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Provide regular monitoring and reporting as required for the courts and DASL Team. Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services. Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.
Work collaboratively and professionally with other teams and services. You will have A current Driver licence. A current
First Aid Certificate. A minimum of a Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management). Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques. At least two years’ experience in recovery, if applicable. Sound computer literacy.
The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes. The ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants’ needs. What we offer
