The key responsibilities
Manage crime and justice data and information from a range of sources.
Extract and provide data or compile statistics for reporting purposes and ad hoc requests.
Analyse and report on data, including quality and availability issues, and negotiating changing requirements and recommending improvements.
Write statistical commentary to support the team's outputs and contribute to documentation of processes and procedures.
Maintain RShiny dashboards and prepare data visualisations to assist users to comprehend statistical information.
Actively ensure outputs satisfy Office standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness based on quality principles and methodologies.
Operate statistical processing systems.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, data custodians, data users, colleagues and other stakeholders.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
- good written and verbal communication skills
- competency in Excel
- proficiency in R, for data extraction and analysis
- knowledge and applied experience in the collection, processing, analysis and presentation of statistical data
- applied experience in writing statistical commentary
- a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate statistical insights effectively to a target audience
- a collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain working relationships.
Highly desirable is:
- experience in RShiny, for interactive web application development.
