ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the CFO, you will assist with key financial operations and the delivery of high-quality data collection and financial analysis.
As a newly established organisation, this role is an exceptional opportunity to become part of our expanding team and play a pivotal role in furthering the development and implementation of financial strategies and processes throughout the organisation.
Specific Responsibilities
Data Collection and Financial Analysis
Work with Schools across the group to ensure an appropriate level of data collection processes and performance reporting quality, including provision of advice, instruction and support and help to ensure an integrated approach to performance reporting
- Produce high-quality and timely financial and non-financial focused data for board reporting requirements
- Financial modelling using qualitative and quantitative data
- Create reports and visualizations using Power BI to communicate insights and findings to business stakeholders
- Collation and presentation of data for quarterly, annual and budget reporting requirements
- Analyse and interpret financial and non-financial data in order to track performance against targets, and develop performance narrative (results, analysis, trends, and factors influencing performance
- Assist with the collection of financial/statistical questionnaires and documentation for government and relevant authorities (QCEC, EREA, State and Federal Government) Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (low volume)
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (low volume)
- Process Accounts Payable (including School funding distributions) and Accounts Receivable
Corporate Card Accounts
- Management of Corporate Card Accounts
General Ledger Reconciliations
- Assistance with General Ledger Reconciliations
Other
- Project work and perform other duties as required.
SIGNIFICANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Chief Financial Officer and Senior Accountant
- School Business Managers, Finance Officers and Accountants (or equivalent)
ABOUT YOU:
To succeed in the role you will have:
- 1-2 years+ experience in a finance/IT related role (preferred)
- Diploma/Tertiary qualification in Finance/Information Technology related field or working towards, or relevant experience based on position requirements
- Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite in particular advanced level of Excel and Power BI skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across Schools
- Understanding of, and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition
- A commitment to the ongoing and proactive protection and safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk of abuse
