Role for a 12 month contract + extensions | ACT Location | Baseline Security Clearance desired | Federal Government Agency

Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage a Data Modeler / Architect.This position is located in their busy Gungahlin office for an initial 12 month contract.

About the Position
The role will be part of a major program to deliver the Payroll Systems modernization. As a result of this, the program is seeking to engage a Data Modeler\Architect with strong experience in the data domain. This role will work alongside the program team to review the existing legacy applications, business processes and produce the following: Information data model, ER Model, Data Flow Diagram, Data Dictionary and Specifications for the Dashboard and Reports.

Duties

• Design and document data models, information architecture, report & dashboard architecture and patterns.
• Working alongside the development team to design the ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Review and document business processes, data sources, and definitions.
• Review requirements specifications documents.
• Develop, review and maintain data dictionary, data taxonomy and other related artefact.
• Work with the business, business analysts and stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboards specification documents.

• 10+ years' experience as a Data Modeler & Information Architecture (mandatory).
• Strong experience in understanding business requirements using User Stories, Business Process Maps, Use Case, User Journeys, FPS and SSS.
• Strong knowledge of data analytics, data modelling and database structure systems.
• Strong experience with SQL coding language for data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI for data visualisation and Business Intelligence tools
• Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS.
• Strong experience in Datawarehouse design including SQL Analytics Services
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong experience with Agile Software Development

• An ACT Government CMTEDD Baseline clearance (or the ability to obtain) is required for this position
