The National Sales Manager collaborates closely with local sales teams to drive revenue growth and market expansion. The primary focus is on developing and executing sales strategies to achieve business objectives while ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
The location for this role is flexible and will be require to work /travel across multiple sites in Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively contribute as a thought leader in the timber business, proposing innovative ideas and concepts to support the development of the timber strategy and vision, driving growth and sustainability in the industry.
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with the overall business objectives. Identify market opportunities, target segments, and growth areas to maximize sales potential.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to understand market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape. Use insights to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Understand their needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions and drive customer satisfaction.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Lead the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth. Work closely with the sales team to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives. Monitor sales performance, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales efforts.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and operations to align sales efforts with overall business goals. Work closely with marketing to develop integrated marketing and sales campaigns.
- Talent Development: Develop sales talent to build a high-performing sales team. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to help team members grow and succeed.
- Sales Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop sales forecasts and budgets based on market analysis, sales trends, and business objectives. Monitor sales performance against targets and adjust plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Administration advantageous but not essential
- Proven experience in strategic sales management, with a track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and sales principles
- Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a results-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, enabling effective communication, data analysis, and project management.
- Travel interstate required.
