Your opportunity:
Our Data and Analytics team have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer who will design, develop, and support the Enterprise Data Warehouse on Azure which responds to business needs. Reporting to the Data Engineer Lead, this role is responsible for delivering an efficient data foundation for reporting and analytics purposes.
The Data Engineer supports the Data Analytics team delivering Data Engineering services to enable ingestion of source system data into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) as well as providing ongoing operational support of the Enterprise Data Engineering solutions for Urban Utilities.
Data Engineering work will lead to our business users having access to sustainable self-serve data models via delivery of data ingested into the EDW and data models delivered in a timely manner according to business led priority of datasets.

About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Ability to work with stakeholders to understand requirement specifications for the movement and transformation of data between systems. Ability to plan work and meet deadlines working with teams or alone. A good facilitator, communicator, negotiator
- Proven experience designing and building Data Integration and Data Warehouse solutions using Azure Data Engineering resources (This includes Azure data factory, Azure databricks and Azure SQL Server)
- Demonstrated experience/strong knowledge of configuration and optimisation of various Azure resources to support seamless Data Engineering in Azure.
- Demonstrated experience/strong knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines to manage CI and CD.
- Any experience with Databricks Lakehouse platform and or Microsoft Fabric is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of SQL with the ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Strong experience around data warehouse design using industry standard data modelling principles.
