Data Engineer

• $900-$1100 p/day
• 12-month contract +
• Hybrid WFH with offices Australia-wide

A leading Federal Government department seeks to engage Data Engineers to support the Chief Data Officer in delivering the Data and Reporting Strategy to improve data governance.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, construct, and optimize data lakes, CI/CD, and Synapse pipelines within the Azure stack
• Develop scalable architecture practices for pipeline designs
• Lead data migration and integration for critical change programs
• Ensure data integrity and align engineering tasks with program objectives
• Monitor and improve data service performance and costs
• Maintain documentation and adhere to data governance policies
• Research and innovate within the Azure Data Engineering field

About you:

• At least 3+ years of experience in Data Development
• Perform detailed design based on high-level architecture
• Experience in detailed design for data integration on Azure cloud data services including ADLS, SQL DB, data lake Synapse and blob storage
• Developed complex ETLs based on SSIS and customised coding C#, .net or vb.net Development experience with Power BI (stored procedure, DAX, functions, views)
• Proficient with Azure data factory and Azure Event Hub Strong understanding of DevOps or other version control system
• Experience working in an Agile environment Exceptional communication skills including written and oral skills
