About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) who regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW. This role sits more specifically in our engineering team, within the Regulatory Intelligence Analytics directorate who are responsible for the management of the data environment and data products for all schemes across the data pipeline to support SIRA's requirements. They also manage the SIRA analytics environment from the ingestion, data quality/modelling engineering, ETL/API orchestration, data visualisation, metrics, reporting and advanced data research, in adherence to strict data governance requirements.

About the role:
- Technical responsibility for analytics platforms and environments, data processing products and ingestion methods as required to ensure compliance with data standards, architectural standards, and achievement of documented customer requirements.
- Build solutions for data management/data analytical projects and ensure adherence to technical specifications, design requirements, best practices and coding standards defined for the project.
- Build and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses, making data available for analysis and reporting.
- Monitor data pipelines and systems for issues, troubleshoot and resolve data-related problems in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
- Support Principal Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other team members to achieve the project outcomes.
- Work collaboratively within a dynamic fast paced environment using Agile delivery methodologies.
About you:
- Software Engineering or Data Engineering background and relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated currency of knowledge in the areas of information management products.
- Technical depth to deliver data and analytical services including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting.
- Dealing with a diverse range of complex matters and highly conceptual issues, to recommend practical solutions, often within limited timeframes.
- Translate technical and complex information into plain English in an environment of divergent stakeholder perspectives.
