Responsibilities
We are seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team in North Sydney team. Work in a fast-paced team using agile project management methodologies.
In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing ELT/ETL pipelines for data warehouse to ingest and transform data for batch and real-time workloads.
- Developing and implementing ETL components for data transformation, management, movement, data quality and data cleansing activities.
- Designing, implementing, and managing data solutions using Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Develop, test, integrate, and deploy Solutions.
- Creating Power BI Reports using Tabular Models to support visualization,
- Developing complex reports & dashboard using DAX Queries.
- Participating in meetings with Business stakeholders to demonstrate working solutions,
- Development of BI standards which adhere to industry best practices including data security and governance.
- Partner with external departments and work collaboratively to support the wider teams and maintain existing solutions.
- End to end lifecycle of development projects from requirement gathering to reporting.
Skills and Experience
Reporting into the Head of Business Intelligence, this role is paramount to the IT team and the upcoming Azure and Global projects.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3-4+ years of experience in MSBI suite of products SSIS, SQL, SSAS & Power BI,
- Tertiary qualifications with Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant discipline,
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud platform, including Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure App Insights, and Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, building and implementing Data Engineering and ETL solutions with enterprise scale data warehouse projects.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft SQL Server the Microsoft BI stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSSRS).
- Confidence and ability to develop complex solutions based on Analysis Services Tabular CUBE and DAX Queries.
- Experience in a large-scale project environment – must have worked on significant projects – not just BAU BA engagements.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and work with a range of internal technical and non-technical stakeholders,
- Sound knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies - Kimball, Star Schema
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
