Data Governance and Privacy Specialist - 12 months Fixed Term Contract

This is a great job for someone who has an in-depth knowledge of data protection/privacy and is keen to play a key role in supporting the strategic ambitions of the Health, Protection, Retirement and Wealth & Advice business areas, by ensuring the data privacy rights of our customers are respected and protected.
A bit about the job:
The role involves working in the Data Privacy Business Partnering Team which supports the above business areas. The successful individual will have a diverse and active role which will involve leading on projects and initiatives to ensure data privacy principles are observed, leading on the investigations of data protection incidents to ensure root cause is carried out and lesson learnt at embedded, and working proactively across the businesses providing guidance and ensuring best practice is adopted.
Aviva operates a "smart-working" policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role can be based from a variety of our UK sites.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Experience in and strong knowledge of Data Protection & Privacy principles is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the Financial Services / Insurance industry, including the products and customer base would be advantageous.
- Able to form and express an independent view with credibility, with the ability to self-manage and prioritise accordingly.
- Good communication skills with a willingness to get involved.
- Relevant Data Privacy qualifications (such as CIPM, CIPP/E) would be desirable, but not essential.

- Starting salary circa £40,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
