Job description
We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.
With the implementation of a successful diversification strategy, we have experienced unprecedented growth over the past few years. We are proud of our ability to deliver highly complex infrastructure within Transport, Roads, Bridges & Structures, Rail, Airports, Water and Dams.
As part of our diversification strategy, we are now seeking an experienced Defence Lead to join our team. This role will initially work within the pre-contracts space, helping to build our strategy and working hands-on in Business Development, tenders and bids, which in time will become a business division within Seymour Whyte. As a newly created role, we will rely on your expertise in this area meaning you have the reins to build this division and drive successful outcomes for the business.
This is an opportunity for someone who is working within the Defence space and is ready to take the next step up in their career to help build a business to ultimately lead it. You will be fully supported to reach your goals. We are networked within a decentralised global organisation allowing easy access to a global ‘knowledge bank’ of resources, methods and expertise where you can leverage the many business units within the VINCI group that specialise in all types of projects.
About you:
Previous experience specialising in Defence works, including some networking contacts, tenders and delivery.
Relevant formal qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification.
High level strategic and analytical thinking.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
High level project management skills.
Ability to travel nationally and regionally, as required.
Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued. We're unified in our direction to having a workplace that is balanced and fair for all.
