An APS 6Operations Team Lead performs administrative work within an integrated workforce. You need to have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
As an APS 6Operations Team Lead you will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and the achievement of outcomes of your work. You will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. You will provide detailed administration, professional and policy advice in relation to work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
As an APS 6Operations Team Lead you lead a small team and set work priorities and manage workflows. You will be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit. You may exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes.
As an APS 6Operations Team Lead you will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to work issues. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. You will contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Within Aerospace Systems Division, AWSPO leads and manages a portfolio of projects and products in support of Air Force capability. This includes the management of acquisition projects in various phases of the capability life cycle including the AIR5438 Phase 2 Lead-In Fighter Capability Upgrade program.
AWSPO, in partnership with industry, also manage three sustainment products: the 127 Hawk Lead-In Fighter, which supports air combat operations through aircraft and off-aircraft systems, delivering aircrew introductory fighter training; Advanced Training and Test Environment (ATTE), which improves Air Force lethality and survivability through the delivery of a threat representative training environment; and the Combat Control Capability Program, which supports combat control operations through the coordination, provisioning and sustainment of combat equipment.
