The Delivery Lead is a fulltime role based in Melbourne and is responsible for driving Agile ways of working and DevOps practices to deliver innovative enterprise solutions for Shell Energy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Digital Delivery Lead to build a team from the ground up. They will plan, build and operate platforms and services that drive Shell Energy’s core business services. They will help Product Owners to develop a roadmap, define the value of features and initiatives that can be delivered incrementally, and prioritise the work while ensuring the achievement of business and technology transformation outcomes in parallel.
The Delivery Lead transforms the way of working for the squad and their Product Owner. They ensure that their team can deliver on their commitments and commit to only what they can deliver, while still having enough time to learn, adapt and improve along the way.

Define a roadmap and deliver initiatives and features in line with that roadmap
- Plan a roadmap of delivery for each initiative that the squad understands and can track progress to.
- Ensure Discovery, Inceptions and releases happen at the right time and with the right outcome.
- Ensure broader strategic and transformational outcomes are included in the roadmap.
- Maintain good product backlog health.
- Clear impediments, prevent disruption and ensure continuous flow of work.
- Deliver initiatives and features in line with expectations set.
- Report progress, financials, time and effort accurately and on time.
- Become more effective and efficient with Agile principles and practices, and delivering in a way that is within capacity and also maximises value.
- Build a focus on delivery of business value.
- Improve performance and uplift capability.
- Maintain good product backlog health.
- Be accountable for day-to-day operation of components, services, modules and applications. "You build it, you run it"
- Clearly articulate the value of initiatives and set clear goals and objectives for the outcomes.
- Understand our technology transformation objectives and the value this drives.
- Maintain good product backlog health and work with the squad to prioritise the backlog.
- Maximise value through Agile principles.
- Understand their role and responsibilities working with a delivery team.
- Be accountable for the squad’s correct estimation, planning, and timely delivery.
- Provide transparency of squad progress towards delivery outcomes and performance.
- Report on expenditure towards an initiative.
- Identify, report & manage risks that arise from the squad.
- Uplift group capability and productivity through coaching practices.
- Contribute thought leadership into a community of practice to assist with transformation and uplifting capability.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Experience as a Digital Delivery Lead with Agile and DevOps transformation experience to collaborate closely with business stakeholders, your squad, and other partners to deliver world class outcomes.
- Ability to build and influence through a hands-on, coaching style to enable the squad to create, support and enhance the products and areas of functionality it owns.
- Ability to empower and coach the team to build their capability and performance, with a focus on continuous improvement and uplifting squad maturity:
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to manage conflicts constructively with people in all roles and all levels;
- Deep understanding of agile and devops methodologies and their application, and ability to coach the squad and stakeholders in these practices;
- Highly developed organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities to meet competing deadlines;
- Experience facilitating workshops and ceremonies; and
- Ability to build and maintain a cohesive team.
