About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Demand Management Operations Manager to join the Strategy Future Network Management team. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint throughout NSW.
The Demand Management Operations Manager will provide strategic direction, leadership, and program delivery to ensure Essential Energy develops the required capability and performance to enable a rapid transition to high penetration of distributed customer energy resources.
The role will be responsible for the delivery and management of Demand management programs, initiatives, and operations to maximise network utilisation and positive customer outcomes.
In achieving this, it is expected that this position will develop, deliver, and continuously improve Essential Energy's capabilities relating to dynamic connections, distributed system operator functions, operating envelopes and interoperability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership in the development of Demand Management and distributed system operator related initiatives that deliver the capabilities for Essential Energy over the short, medium to long term
- Lead a culture of innovation by keeping abreast of Energy Industry changes and developments, with a strong focus on Distribution System Operator functions, Customer Energy Resources and agile working implementation methods suited to Essential Energy's organisation.
- Provide thought leadership and strategic support into connections and future networks related decisions to ensure policy positions are in the best interest of Essential Energy and its customers.
- Be a business enabler by building and maintaining key internal and external stakeholder relationships and ensuring a high level of communication and cross-collaboration within the branch, with stakeholders and cross divisional in support of effective asset management and commercial decisions.
About You
As the Demand Management Operations Manager, you will possess demonstrated experience in the electricity distribution industry, particularly in the development and implementation of innovative technology programs.
You will have strong leadership experience, with a proven track record in leading effective strategic and delivery teams, as well as providing broader leadership across organisations.
You will have a robust understanding of customer and electricity network behaviour and modelling. With the ability to dissect complex problems, you will coordinate a diverse range of stakeholders to formulate pragmatic business strategies and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Information Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
Desirable
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce or Economics.
Key Skills/Experience
- Demonstrated experience in analytics and large-scale modelling techniques
- Experience in cloud computing technologies
- Knowledge of Australian electricity, legislative and regulatory environment, including an understanding of the process for regulatory change
- Demonstrated experience in implementing business strategy, considering practical policy development, process improvement initiatives, including automation of complex processes and reporting
- Advanced data analysis, researching, problem solving and model development skills to create, indices to collate senior management reports for direction setting and strategic industry and commercial insights
- Professional interpersonal and influencing skills with a proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to build collaborative working relationships across all levels of the business, industry partners, and with regulatory bodies
