The Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a dynamic, hands-on and experienced Demand Planner with a passion for data analysis and forecasting. Reporting to the Supply Chan Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in in shaping our supply chain strategy, ensuring our products reach customers efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Demand fluctuation and sales history analysis
- Generate and prepare crystal reports with SAP data
- Uploading sales forecast in SAP and run MRD analysis
- Highlight demand changes among forecast versions
- Communicate with cross functions like sales, customer service, product managers
- Detecting fast changing demand of key products and categories with required frequencies (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly/quarterly)
Demand and Forecast shaping
- Participate SO&P meetings and calibrate data with key stakeholders
- Present analysis and proposals for management decisions
- Apply multiple planning scenarios for different categories
- What if analysis with fill rates & inventory control leverage
- Mitigate supply risks or overstocking by pulling in and pushing out proposals
Order fulfillment management
- Review fulfillment plan weekly/fortnightly/monthly with suppliers
- Communicate products shipping priorities to suppliers and make sure decisions followed by suppliers with buyer together.
- Monitor open orders and shipments’ status timely updated in system (executed by buyer)
Operation excellence & continue improvement
- Develop & modify best-fit planning scenarios with SAP continuously
- Define & monitor suppliers’ delivery performance and flexibility with KPI
- Define & monitor forwarders’ delivery performance and flexibility with KPI
- Participate supplier and forwarder business review and drive for improvement (incl. periodical & special)
- Demand forecast accuracy review and improve, with key stakeholders
- Stock level monitor and utilisation
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you must have a ‘can do’ attitude, the drive and determination to succeed, plus be able to demonstrate:
- 4-8 years of demand and capacity planning experience in large-scale manufacturing and distribution systems.
- Exceptional logical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in data modelling and planning tool development.
- Strong business insight and strategic thinking.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Committed to high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical sensitivity.
- Deep understanding of SO&P.
- ERP knowledge (SAP/Oracle, etc.) and familiarity with material and capacity planning, procurement, and logistics modules.
- Excellent Excel and MS Office skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Effective negotiation skills with suppliers regarding lead times and purchasing terms.
- Broad knowledge across operations, customer service, logistics, quality systems, finance, sales, and marketing.
- Team player capable of working in multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred but not mandatory.
