About the Role:
We’re recruiting for Demand Planner to support the Australia team on a 3 month contract with a view to go permanent. This exciting role will see you responsible for a portfolio of SKU’s and customer combinations, performing analyses and ensuring accurate forecasting for each SKU. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a range of different teams to develop strategic stock levels and make insightful recommendations to each division. Make your mark by planning and generating the Demand Plan for each of your SKU’s and support the annual and quarterly budget planning processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Need to maintain accurate forecast using inputs from sales, Marketing & Brand partners to support the demand.
- Data collection from internal and external sources on the factors known to predict or influence demand.
- Statistical analysis of sales & inventory
- Modelling the data to predict future demand and collaboration with suppliers, manufacturers, salespeople, and other stakeholders to gather information on events that could affect demand, such as promotions and production delays.
- Obtaining information on occurrences that could impact demand like promotions and production delays.
- Gathering updates on vendors, distributors, sales, and other stakeholders that can affect demand.
- Developing demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons.
- Coordinating cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances.
- Interacting with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Using and maintaining the demand planning software
- Providing input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Refining systems and methods to improve forecasts in order to better anticipate customer needs.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to follow and understand big-picture economic trends.
- Understanding of statistical modelling.
- Excellent database and Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Theory.
- Knowledge of inventory metrics.
- Understanding of seasonality and peak demand times.
- Presentation skills and speaking ability.
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
