We are excited to share this rare opportunity to join an elite dental team. We are seeking a Dental Assistant / receptionist to cover for Maternity Leave.
- Fixed Term 12 Month Contract - Maternity Leave Cover - with possibility of extension (3 month probationary period)
- Flexible work arrangement - 9-day fortnight possibility.
- Monday - Friday, 1 Saturday per month as required.
- Free onsite parking, 2 minutes from Howard Smith Wharves, James Street and Brunswick Street Mall.
- On-the-job handover with supportive team
As a Dental Assistant & Receptionist in our team, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations. You will provide high quality clinical and administrative assistance to practice clinicians, as well as engage with patients in a positive and professional way.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Prepare patients & facilities for dental treatment
- Deliver quality chairside assistance to our Dentists
- Taking and developing X-Rays
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and post operative care
- Provide efficient instrument sterilisation (autoclave)
- Maintain infection control standards and procedures
- Preparing and delivering labwork
- Booking and amending appointments, answering the phone, updating patient records
- Supporting the Dentists and clinical team with the smooth running of the practice
- Handling health fund/medicare claims, and payments/payment plans
- Administration and email management, liaising with third parties
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
To be successful in this role:
- Have a Cert III in Dental Assisting, preferred but not essential
- Experience in Implant Surgery and 4 handed dentistry is an advantage but not essential
- CPR Certification, can be obtained after hiring
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to techniques quickly
- Be a motivated, vibrant and friendly team player who can take direction
- Able to build strong patient rapport, demonstrate compassion and provide a high standard of customer service
- Have excellent English, communication and time management skills
- Be well-presented, punctual, reliable and dedicated to providing consistent and efficient, quality work
