About the Role
As the Dental Officer, you will be responsible for the provision of dental services to patients, including but not limited to emergency treatments, general examinations and preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and design/management of prosthodontics.
In this role you will:
- Liaise with the senior Dental Officer (depending on clinic size), medical officers, nursing officers, and specialist dental providers to provide comprehensive dental care
- Play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the good oral health of personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures
- Ensure that patients are dentally fit for deployment
About the Robertson Health Centre
Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km east of the city of Darwin. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2,800 defence staff, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The Health Centre provides primary medical, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health services, and operates a 22-bed 24/7 ward. Standard operating hours are 0730-1530, Monday-Friday.
About You
Your passion for providing the highest quality dental services is at the heart of everything you do. You have a friendly and professional manner which automatically puts patients at ease and you take pride in your ability to inspire trust from both your patients and colleagues alike.
As the ideal applicant you will have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with AHPRA
- Minimum 2 years’ full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA, and
- A current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certificate
