Key Responsibilities:
The Steri bay Technician will:
- Open and close Steri and Clinics in the morning and at the end of the working day
- Set up Clinics, X-ray area and Recovery room using approved checklists
- Turnover of Clinics, X-ray area and Recovery rooms after patients
- Process Instruments: Disinfect, Process and store instruments/equipment according to protocol
- Quality Control of Instruments & Equipment – ensure thorough & correct processing of instruments
- Document sterilisation cycles using approved protocol & Australian Standard
- Set up instrument trays & materials, lab work for patients throughout the day and the following day
- Perform general maintenance & recording of Steri Bay equipment daily/weekly as required using the Lidums Dental checklist and protocol
- Assist other Dental assistants/Operators with patient care as required
- Assist Hygienists/Oral Health Therapists during dental procedures as needed
- Restock Clinics, X-ray Area and Recovery room using approved checklists
- Manage the cleaning of uniforms & patients blankets from dirty through to storage
- Ensure sharps, waste, rubbish, materials are disposed of according to the Australian Standards
- Assist front office in running errands for patients and the practice as required
- Keep the Steri in a tidy and clean manner, ensuring to abide by storage and stock rules and protocol
- Other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
