About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Director, Indigenous Students & Community Engagement into this newly created position to work closely with and support the Director, Indigenous Students and Community Engagement in driving a key element of the Indigenous Education and Research Strategy, being Indigenous student recruitment, outreach, and student support.
About You
As the Deputy Director, you will be a passionate leader who can operationalise aspiration-building and student acquisition strategies, and supporting success through the Indigenous student life cycle.
You will also have:
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous education issues, in a university context
- The ability to promote consultative planning and decision making, to develop a sense of unity, cooperation and common purpose amongst staff, and to support organisational and cultural change as needed
- Proven ability to develop and manage effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, Indigenous communities, relevant industry and professional organisations, and to build partnerships and alliances to promote the University, its graduates and research
- Demonstrated experience in developing University and Community Engagement programs/partnerships
- Experience working in the higher education sector developing Indigenous Student Lifecycle models
- Extensive leadership and people management experience
- Experience in development & execution of a strategy strongly aligned to a broader strategic objective

Remuneration/Salary
A competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered, and the opportunity of having up to 17% superannuation as part of the total package.
