What You Will Be Doing
The Deputy Head of Occupational Therapy is an expert occupational therapist who demonstrates high level leadership and operational management skills to support the operations of the Occupational Therapy Department. The Deputy Head of Occupational Therapy works closely with the Head of Occupational Therapy to advise on the strategic direction of the Occupational Therapy service within inpatient and acute outpatient clinical programs and they play a key role in optimising workforce capabilities and capacities.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Experience at senior clinician and/or management level within a healthcare setting.
• Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and experience in Occupational Therapy and strong understanding of Occupational Therapy scope of practice.
• Human resource management experience, including but not limited to learning and development, recruitment and performance management.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication and ability to engage with stakeholders including consultation and negotiation at all levels.
• Extensive experience in the supervision and mentoring of Occupational Therapy staff, students and Allied Health Assistants.
• Demonstrated capacity to respond positively to change and propose practical solutions to challenges.
• Excellent understanding of contemporary health care issues, challenges and opportunities.
• Ability to think strategically and influence team collaboration and outcomes.
• Relevant clinical experience and a strong understanding of the care continuum.

*Please refer to salary circular Victorian Public Health Sector (Health Professionals, Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Officers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
