Job description

Deputy Manager - Occupational Therapy - AHP Level 4
Fixed term, Part Time, 30.4 hours per fortnight
Tasmanian Health Service - North West (Mersey Community Hospital)
To be Tasmanian is to move towards what's different rather than the same; to better, not more. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?
You've paired a diverse clinical skillset with leadership nous. And you could put this into place anywhere. What's different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, you will influence decision making within a vital service, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.
Our way of life here is centred on meaning. Creating, conserving, exploring, connecting. We don't sit in traffic at the end of the day, we spend more of our time doing the things we love. We are small enough here for uniqueness to stand out and be celebrated. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, friendships, and positive lifestyles. Tasmanians are connected to the land where we live, and to the stories of the people who have cared for this place for thousands of years.
We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practice that sees our Occupational Therapists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. You will serve as an important piece of the Occupational Therapy leadership team, providing guidance and support to our team of 40 professionals and assistant staff.
Everything that we do here is directed towards ensuring that our community members receive high quality care from skilled professionals, and you will play a large role in this mission. As a team, we'll be committed to seeing you thrive. We'll look after you from the beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our team and culture. As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals.
Something is happening here, and you're invited to be part of it. Be TASMANIAN.
