The renewable energy sector in Australia is experiencing unprecedented growth, with numerous projects entering commissioning and construction phases nationwide. As our clients expand their operations, we are looking to bolster our Electrical Design and site engineer teams with talented professionals who have a strong background in designing BESS and solar farms.
Position Details:
- Full-time permanent role with hybrid WFH options and relocation assistance available
- Location: Brisbane, QLD
- Involvement in the full-project life cycle from concept to commissioning within the renewable energy sector
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Utilise professional engineering skills to design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems tailored for the renewable energy market.
- Conduct a range of activities including feasibility studies, design, site inspections, and commissioning, with a focus on renewable energy projects across Australia.
- Work independently with periodic technical review by a Senior Electrical Engineer, and occasionally supervise less experienced engineers and designer/drafters.
- Follow and document engineering design and commissioning processes specific to renewable energy projects.
- Prepare and review design calculations, reports, documentation, and other engineering deliverables for renewable energy initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and professionals within the renewable energy industry.
- Comply with engineering processes, providing feedback for improvement, specifically targeting the renewable energy market.
- Estimate budgets, schedules, and project documents for approval within the renewable energy sector.
- Perform diagnostic analysis or troubleshooting of equipment related to renewable energy solutions.
- Ensure a safe, positive work environment, promoting teamwork and adherence to policies within the renewable energy space.

- Comply with statutory, regulatory, and other requirements related to health, safety, and technology usage within the renewable energy sector.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others involved in renewable energy projects.
- Follow reasonable instructions and policies relating to health or safety at the workplace within the renewable energy industry.
- Utilize technology legally and maintain the integrity of the Information Management System (IMS) in the context of renewable energy projects.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong technical design and practical skills applicable to renewable energy projects.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities tailored for renewable energy solutions.
- Experience with electrical system modelling and CAD, PSSE, and PSCAD software relevant to renewable energy applications.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, particularly within the renewable energy industry.
- Demonstrated performance in a design role delivering reliable, competent, and innovative designs for renewable energy projects.
