PURPOSE:
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with various stakeholders and senior executives (client, suppliers, partners) to meet business objectives and required project outcomes
- Lead Design team members in the successful delivery of the design process through proactive interaction with the Client, design collaborators, construction delivery team and stakeholders
- Collaborate with other design management personnel to design and continuously improve Office processes and standards to ensure innovative and optimal outcomes are delivered by leveraging internal and external resources
- Design/draft civil disciplines for infrastructure and urban development projects
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop professional relationships with senior executives and client interfaces to deliver contractual obligations within agreed timelines, and resource, capability and quality expectations
- Liaise with clients, government authorities, service authorities and other stakeholders to provide technical input as required and obtain the relevant approvals
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships and networks within the industry to ensure Red Fox Advisory (RFA) retains a high level of respect and regard, and to continue to build business opportunities
Technical/Engineering:
- Perform design and drafting functions for projects as required and to the relevant Drafting Standards
- Ability to identify and develop alternate design options that present more cost effective and innovative solutions
- Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels
- Manage the Value Engineering, Safety in Design and collaborator coordination processes
- Deliver robust resource planning for immediate and future requirements
- Review and monitor projects against milestones to ensure that the design program is robust and meets the contractual requirements of assigned projects
- Review the tender and detailed designs to ensure compliance with relevant design standards, Project Specification and Technical Requirements
- Perform site phase services and inspections
- Track, coordinate and assist with the review and closure of project RFIs and NCRs
- Preparation of fee proposals, tender documents, Bill of Quantities, and technical specifications
People Management:
- Collaborate with management to continue growth of a team of technically competent Civil Engineers
- Participation in the recruitment and selection of key local team members
- Supervise, train and motivate the design team to achieve KPIs and desired outcomes
- Assess and analyse workforce skills and capability required to deliver the business’ program of work
- Develop a comprehensive succession plan for the design team to address team learning and development as well as risks to business success such as skills gaps, retention, critical leadership, knowledge management
General:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of RFA’ s professional services and systems
- Maintain RFA professional standards, meeting company objectives and obligations in relation to Financial Targets, Service Levels, Quality, Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental standards
- Upholding the reputation and highest ethical standards of Red Fox Advisory
- Promote Red Fox values and a positive working culture
- Ensure all files and online documentation are kept updated and maintained to a high standard
- Adhere to the Red Fox Code of Conduct, and report any incidents or breaches to the Executive Team
QUALIFICATIONS:
Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor of Engineering
Chartered Engineer (CPEng) qualifications
Engineers Australia (MIEAust) professional membership
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Engineering, with substantial experience in Design Management
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English, and the ability to prepare documentation, spreadsheets and presentations to a high level
- Ability to problem solve and think critically and strategically
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting and collaboration applications (e.g. Teams, Zoom, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant technical standards in your field of works, and ability to assess and apply standards which you have not previously used
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to determine priorities and meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team to meet project goals and operational targets
- Ability to provide, receive and apply constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement
