About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland is seeking an energetic Development Coordinator to enhance the HDR student experience and support retention initiatives. In this vital role, you'll drive the development and coordination of innovative learning programs, focusing on translational and professional skills development based on the latest research training innovations.

You'll collaborate closely with the HDR Engagement and Development Manager, academic staff, and various UQ stakeholders to deliver engaging programs and activities. Join us to elevate HDR student development initiatives, ensuring a high standard of engagement and creating exceptional opportunities for the UQ community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and administer innovative training programs and activities to enhance HDR students' research and professional skills and improve graduate outcomes.
  • Support academic staff in developing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning approaches within the HDR Career Development Framework.
  • Develop and deliver induction programs, staff development activities, skills training workshops, travel grant schemes, and mentorship programs.
  • Present workshops and deliver resources for HDR students and university staff.
  • Focus on engaging with HDR candidates and promoting career opportunities through development.
  • Promote UQ Graduate School events and activities through high-level communications.
  • Maintain effective relationships with UQ organisational units like the SEED , UQ Library, and Student Services and schools and institutes.
  • Produce reports, analytics, and supporting materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the UQ Graduate School and participate in committees and working parties as required.

This is a full-time, fixed term position through to the end of July 2025, based at St Lucia.

At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649- $105,244, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080- $123,136 annually.

As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You
  • A relevant degree and/or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in fields related to education, development, psychology or engagement.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, including presentation and business writing skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritising competing tasks to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • High level computer literacy with experience using a wide range of computer applications in a network environment (particularly the Microsoft Office suite).
  • Experience in building highly effective professional relationships and working with diverse stakeholders across multiple countries and regions.
