As a leader in the industry, they are expanding their team and seeking a dynamic professional to join as a Development Manager.
Position overview:
As a dedicated Development Manager you will spearhead their efforts in energy projects encompassing Solar, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Gas.This will
involve origination of opportunities, developing the opportunities into well designed projects and supporting the business development team to deliver the business investment case.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your expertise to contribute to the success of our initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about renewable energy and looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry.
As a Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and evaluating new project opportunities in Solar, Wind, BESS, and Gas sectors.
- Leading project development from conception to completion, navigating regulatory requirements, land acquisition, permitting, and financing.
- Cultivating strategic partnerships with stakeholders including landowners, government agencies, utilities, and investors.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement and innovation to optimize project efficiency and sustainability.
- Managing prospecting activities including constraints analysis and overseeing acquisition of rights or tenure strategy.
- Project management of the development activities in accordance with an agreed framework.
- Managing and coordinating the work of external consultants and internal service providers in respect of approvals, design optimisation and grid connection.
- Support Business Development Managers to develop a commercially viable project.
- Regularly liaise, influence, and negotiate with landowners, Councils, planning consent authorities, regulators, and electricity network companies.
Requirements and experience:
- Experience in the development of energy projects in Australia.
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience.
- Expertise in Solar, Wind, BESS, and Gas technologies, with a keen understanding of industry trends and best practices.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- A results-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.
- A passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
