YOUR ROLE
As a DevOps and Reliability Engineer, you'll be applying modern engineering practices to enable fast, reliable, and effective software delivery. You'll be working across two areas.
The first is building out solution wide practices and tooling to support a brand-new insurance ecosystem. This includes solution-wide observability, pulling together deployment and version information across our shared environments, tracking cloud and infrastructure spend, and assisting in building a program-wide incident response process (for our test environments).
The second is to work with delivery teams to uplift their engineering practices. This includes establishing quality gates, automating deployments and testing activities, uplifting monitoring and alerting, and encouraging trunk-based development. Throughout it all you will champion blameless culture and bring a mindset of curiosity and experimentation in how you engage internally within the team, and when collaborating with other teams.
This full-time, permanent position is open in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Wellington, Auckland, or Christchurch, and offers a hybrid work model.
ABOUT YOU
We are currently in search of a DevOps and Reliability Engineer who possesses exceptional communication skills, a talent for innovation, and a proven track record in the following areas:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field (desirable)
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or a related field
- Strong understanding of observability concepts and tools (New Relic, Splunk, Grafana,
- Prometheus, etc.)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub, AzureDevOps, AWS CodePipeline, etc.)
- Production support / on-call experience is a bonus.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Typescript, C#, Java, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
