About the role
This is an individual contributor role where you’ll work on our DevOps team. You’ll balance work between our main 3 products (Funnel, SchoolApp and Websites). On this team, you’ll focus on building, maintaining, and improving infrastructure, tools, documentation, and processes. You’ll tackle complex technical problems and work to enhance our security posture. You’ll help other engineering teams as their workflows, tools, and applications interact with our existing and updated infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
- Developing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, ensuring fast and reliable releases
- Collaborating with software engineering teams to streamline the deployment and release processes.
- Set up and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
- Implementing and managing security best practices in the DevOps processes
- Operating within Agile best practices across several teams
Great to have skills
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Experience being on-call with PagerDuty or similar systems
- Experience managing and troubleshooting RDS services (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
- Experience working within PCI or HIPAA environments, including Audits
- Experience Coordinating Vulnerability Remediation
- Experience with DataDog logging, events and monitoring configuration
- 3+ years of proven experience in a DevOps or similar role
- Hands-on experience with a variety of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, WAF, ECS, Fargate, etc.)
- Experience with modern secure infrastructure practices & tooling
- Experience managing Linux and comfortable working in a command line environment
- Proficiency in using CI/CD tools such as Teamcity, GitHub Actions, or similar
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell, Ruby) and experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or similar
- Proficient in Git for version control
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- This role is based in Australia, and citizenship or permanent residence is required
- 25 days holiday, plus public holidays
- Superannuation contribution (on top of base salary)
