We currently have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our existing DevOps team in Revenue Digital to work across a range of IT and digital projects.

About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer, your primary focus will be enabling the software development operations from initiation to delivery of software to production.
With the support of our Principal, Seniors, and other DevOps engineers, some of the key responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively within the Development Operations (DevOps) team and broader Revenue Digital and Department of Customer Service teams
- Work within a large AWS enterprise environment
- Maintain existing non-cloud native platforms and releases to controlled environments
- Support batch processes, build and release tools, monitoring and alerting
- Contribute to the build of GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Support DevOps culture, platforms and processes
- Support the team to foster a security, automation, and integration-centric DevOps mindset and culture
- Contribute to collaborative discussions to design and implement governance checks in compliance with policies and work towards best practice
- Provide efficiency gains and solutions
- Deliver large scale transformation projects affecting all users of Revenue NSW services
- Become a subject matter expert of the latest DevOps technologies and tools
We are seeking candidates who possess experience in the following Tools and Environments: (Please note, these are desirable, you are still encouraged to apply if you are familiar with some of the below)
- Cloud and non-cloud environments including AWS
- GitLab, Bamboo, Subversion, within an agile environment
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Automation through pipelines and scripting
- Atlassian tool suite including Jira and Confluence
- Containerisation e.g., Docker, AWS ECS
- Shell scripting on *nix
- Database - SQL, Oracle, PostGres
- Knowledge of development environments such as Python, PHP, Java
- Batch scheduling via AutoSys
- Knowledge of Unix and Windows
- Exposure to Splunk and Pager Duty is well regarded
Certifications:
- AWS Cloud Certification or willingness to attain is desirable
