Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a team and by themselves. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling all components of assets in our fleet ranging from dozers, prime movers, excavators and b-double tippers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspection techniques.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty parts.
- Overhaul and rebuild Heavy Vehicle and earthmoving components.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Be able to work in a workshop or in the field.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
- Self-motivated and driven.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter or similar role.
- Technical certification or diploma in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
- Have earthmoving and road transport experience.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
