About Lindsay Transport:
Lindsay Transport is now entering its seventh decade in operation and is one of the largest transporters of fresh produce in Australia. Lindsay Transport specialises in temperature sensitive, time-slotted freight into Central Markets and major Grocery Distribution Centres. We operate a network of freight terminals with significant cold-room facilities across the east coast of Australia and employ a staff of approximately 1500 workers.
Reliability is the cornerstone in transport and to ensure reliability we make sure our fleet is maintained to the highest level. To help us achieve this we require an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to our maintenance team.
About the Role:
The primary duties of the role will include:
- Repair, replace, maintain and diagnose a high volume of all company vehicles including trailers, forklifts and Ute’s
- Completing repairs and work in a safe and efficient manner
- Servicing vehicles in line with our company service schedule
- Assisting with major repairs such as rebuilds, midlife’s, brake / bearing overhauls
- Accurate completion of all documentation associated with fleet maintenance and repairs
- Attending to breakdowns when required on a weekly roster
About the Requirements:
The candidates we are looking for will have:
- Trade qualification (AQF certificate) relating to heavy commercial vehicle mechanics or in a related Diesel Mechanics fields
- Proven competence in repairs and overhauls
- Experience working on prime movers or heavy vehicle trailers is highly valued
- Effective diagnostic skills on Kenworth, Daf, Cummins, BPW
- Own basic tools (specialist tools are provided and tool allowance paid)
- Basic computer skills
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Motivated, reliable and a good work ethic
