An exciting opportunity exists for a Dietitian - Senior to be a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level dietetic clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.
Dietitians within Allied Health Service Delivery Model (AH-SDM) work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with the Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff will be required to work across other clinical services and facilities within AHSDM as required to assist in meeting patient care needs, managing leave cover, and succession planning of staff. Staff may be required to rotate across SCHHS as per Allied Health Rotation Guidelines.
The senior dietitian role within the Eating Disorders Service (EDS) of the Mental Health and Specialised Service (MHSS) is a valued and integral part of an interdisciplinary team delivering high quality dietetic assessment and treatment to consumers, their families and carers in the outpatient setting. The senior dietitian (EDS) works cooperatively with the Queensland Eating Disorder Service.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high level dietetic clinical practice in one or more areas of a complex nature in mental health services (adults, eating disorders) with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight, clinical practice supervision and clinical education to less experienced dietitians and students as delegated.
