JOB TITLE:Digital Media Adviser
JOB TYPE: Full Time or Part Time

REPORTS TO: Director of Communications
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Office of the Leader of the Opposition is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Digital Media Adviser to join the team. The Digital Media Adviser will be responsible for digital content creation across social media platforms, including identifying key messaging and target segments, developing news stories, and supporting the Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Cabinet in content creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify potential media opportunities and developing news stories
- Create digital content for online platforms including social media
- Manage social media accounts including content upload and moderation
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders for inclusion in media opportunities
- Filming and editing social media content
- Attending events with the Leader to identify photo opportunities
- Provide weekend and after hour media support on a rotational basis
- Other ad hoc media related tasks as directed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of the Digital Media landscape, with extensive knowledge of social media
- Knowledge of parliamentary, government and political processes
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Excellent written communication, organisation and time management skills
- Related tertiary qualification favourably considered
The role is a full-time fixed-term position until 31 December 2026 with a three-month probationary period.
