Job description

We're REA

REA Group  is not your average digital business. From humble beginnings in a garage in Melbourne’s east in 1995, we have grown into a leading global digital business, specialising in property.

With bold and ambitious goals, we are changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help with every step - whether that's finding or financing your next home.

Our people are the key to our success. At the heart of everything we do, is a thriving culture centred around high performance and care. We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to be named in Australia’s “Top 5” Best Workplaces two  years in a row, as well as being recognised as a Best Workplace for Women.

What we’re doing

This role sits within the Personalisation and Privacy tribe, one of the Tribes which sits within the Consumer Group. The Consumer Group’s mandate is to be the number one destination for Australian property and real estate through having the most engaging and best real estate and property experience. The Personalisation and Privacy Tribe supports and develops much of our marketing technology stack and platforms, and a privacy first user experience which underpins REA’s revenue, product growth and world class user experience.

As a Digital Tagging & Implementation Specialist, you will be a subject matter expert and champion of:

  • Tag Manager implementations

  • Analytics implementations, primarily Adobe Analytics (Omniture), Google Analytics and Snowplow, but others as required (e.g. Amplitude, Nielsen, Krux etc.)

  • Defining our data layer and schema management

You will need to engage consultatively with many different teams and stakeholders across Product, Tech/Delivery and Digital/Analyst teams, who require guidance in collecting and utilising our audience and clickstream data effectively. To do this you’ll be responsible for:

  • Eliciting or coordinating detailed data capture requirements from various stakeholders across REA.

  • Supporting teams in the use of TealiumiQ and ensuring the data layer definition and tag management process is well understood by stakeholders.

  • Scoping and documenting impacts of tracking implementations and schema changes on downstream data products.

  • Translating REA data layer definitions into analytics endpoint required formats.

  • Implementing tagging logic and data collection configuration via TealiumiQ interface and custom JavaScript.

  • Using your analytical and technical skills to support resolution of data collection and quality issues in development, staging and production environments.

  • Using your awesome technical analytics development skills to enhance our stack or solve technical challenges.

  • Using your awesome analyst skills to find solutions to problems using our data platforms and analytics.

  • Supporting new tag deployments, tracking and data collection methods across our digital experiences.

What we’re looking for

  • Good practical knowledge and hands on experience of digital analytics implementations across web and app technologies and architecture

  • Prior experience working with any of: TealiumIQ (any TMS), Adobe Analytics (Omniture) and/or Google Analytics products or tech stacks

  • A passion for data and how it can be used to solve real problems.

  • Knowledge of programming, system design, and database concepts.

  • A good general understanding of the Martech eco system is also preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to interpret complex business needs and translate into requirements and data specifications for technical solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation techniques.

  • Ability to converse with technical and non-technical people at all levels of the organisation.

  • Effective time management and prioritisation.

  • Ability to manage concurrent streams of work.

  • Ability to work productively and autonomously in a fast paced environment.

  • Pedantic attention to detail as it relates to data and software development.

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Business, Science, Engineering or Marketing.

Desirable

  • Intermediate or higher SQL and JavaScript skills are highly considered

  • Familiarity with APIs and complex JSON data structures.

  • An understanding of Agile ways of working.

But we don’t just look for someone based on their skills and expertise.  It’s our connection, acceptance and genuine care for each other that makes REA a great place to work. That means you also need to be:

  • Savvy minded and have curiosity to think a little left of field / outside the box

  • A strong and creative communicator

  • Friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills

  • An avid contributor to our inclusive culture - we celebrate different perspectives and all play an active role in creating a sense of belonging

The REA experience

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow. We’re committed to your development – both professionally and personally. Your experience with us is something we take seriously.

We offer:

  • A hybrid and flexible approach to working - https://rea.to/hybrid-working

  • Flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers

  • Programs to support mental, emotional, financial and physical health & wellbeing

  • Our Because We Care program offers employees volunteering leave, community grants, matched payroll giving and our Community Café donates 100% of revenue to charity.

  • Hack Days so you can bring your big ideas to life

  • Performance recognition programs because hard work should never go unnoticed

Oh, and by the way:

At REA we value diversity and inclusion in all forms. Gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, neurodiversity and so much more. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you've got the must-haves, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
