Diploma Educators for Permanent Positions at our community-based, child-focused, not-for-profit long day care centre.
Toronto Community Child Care Centre was established in 1985 and has been providing a community focused caring and educational service for nearly 40 years. We are a not-for-profit centre run by a dedicated volunteer parent committee. We believe in providing an environment that respects the child’s right and need for belonging, supportive relationships, wellbeing and safety and support children to explore, learn and grow within this secure environment.
We provide a play-based program tailored to suit the children in our care from 6 weeks - 6 years old encompassing the Early Years Learning Framework. We also have cultural, social and environmental programs and a comprehensive transition to school preschool program.
We have a maximum of 55 children attending each day, across 3 rooms: our Wilai (Possum) Nursery (0-2), Maata (Echidna) Toddler (2-3) and Mowane (Kangaroo) Preschool (3-6). We also run a comprehensive transition to school preschool program.

We are currently seeking Diploma Educators for Permanent Positions in our team.
Your role is to:
- Provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment and assist in the implementation of educational programs that support the development of individual children’s needs and interests
- Display a holistic approach to teaching, allowing children to be confident, independent, involved learners who can try new things and safely take risks.
- Ensure high quality care and inclusive practices for all children in our care and support collaborative relationships with families and our broader community.
- Continually reflect on your own practice and attitude to ensure we are teaching with intention, respect and adapting practices in response to the needs of our children, families, and the community.

Essential Criteria
To be considered for the position you must be able to address the following essential criteria
- Minimum ACECQA approved Diploma qualification in Children’s Services
- An understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Ability to show initiative and work within a team environment and display solid communication skills
- Willingness to share new ideas and promote community engagement
- Interest in supporting children with additional needs
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Current Working With Children Check
- Understanding of WHS legislation
