Job description

Director Finance Business Partner

  • Based in Paramatta - hybrid and flexible arrangements available.
  • Ongoing role - 2 Positions across 2 different Portfolio
  • $218,384- $242,487 total remuneration payable
Your role
An exciting opportunity to lead DCJ's financial management function and provide integrated support to support effective service delivery and facilitate the achievement of organisational and strategic objectives across the Department's key portfolios.
We are recruiting for Finance Business Partners across two of our portfolios:
  • Communities and Families: Delivers critical social services to the NSW community, including child protection and permanency support, housing and homelessness services, strategy, policy and commissioning activities and transforming Aboriginal outcomes.
  • Courts and Law Reform: Provides administrative and corporate support to NSW courts and tribunals and operates as the principal source of advice for Ministers and the Department on legal matters and law reform.
What you'll do
You will lead a diverse team that is responsible for providing high level strategic, tactical and operational advice to the executive leadership team to ensure that operations meet required standards of probity, equity and best practice and support the achievement of the Department and Government objectives.
As a strategic Business Partner, you will also be responsible for providing financial advice and support, and carrying out planning and budgeting, management reporting, and stakeholder management so support more efficient and effective service delivery overall.
You will also:
  • Drive the preparation of various ministerial and cabinet submissions relating to various policy and initiatives to enable strategic outcomes.
  • Build capability and support for longer term initiatives.
  • Deliver expert advice on financial impacts, including assistance with costings and assessment of options for the sources of funding, including reprioritisation.
  • Direct the development of budgets from the ground up, working closely with executives to ensure that these reflect business plans and remain within allocation.
  • Manage the preparation, dissemination and explanation of quality, timely and accurate management and financial reports to meet divisional needs.
  • Lead the provision of financial advice to inform decision making by the executive leadership team, with a view to ensuring that resource allocation decisions align with business needs and optimise outcomes.
  • Act as the interface between the division's operations and the central finance team, as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
