The Director of Finance and Corporate Services is responsible for overseeing the financial management and performance of the hospital and providing leadership and direction across the following areas: Administrative services, Catering, Environmental services, Supply, Health information, and Finance. This multifaceted role not only involves strategic financial oversight but also emphasises the importance of effective leadership in driving operational excellence. Key Accountabilities
- Leadership of Corporate Services across the hospital including: Administrative services, Catering, Environmental services, Supply, Health information, and Finance.
- Create, maintaining, and updating of financial models, forecasts and budgets, analysis of results and identification of opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Development of annual budgets and business plans and management of capital expenditures.
- Liaise and collaborate with corporate finance services regarding reporting and compliance.
- Partnering across hospital leadership to educate, grow and empower managers in understanding and growing their business.
To be successful in this role, you will possess significant commercial acumen, financial management expertise, highly effective leadership skills, and the ability to foster strong, positive, and professional relationships with remote and on-site teams.
Your Skills and Experience
- Extensive senior management/executive experience
- Proficiency in team building, people development, and achieving high performance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business with membership in CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA) preferred.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen in a health care environment is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and utilise data to improve organisational performance and identify opportunities.
- Outstanding aptitude for leadership, communication, and negotiation, ability to work collaboratively with the business to achieve peak performance.
- Demonstrated excellent attention to detail, decision-making capabilities, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Digitally savvy, knowledge across a range of platforms with experience working with large accounting software packages and financial reporting models, including advanced budget preparation.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholder groups across the organisation.
- Leadership expertise demonstrated through successful business transformation initiatives.
- Comprehensive grasp of prevailing and historical healthcare industry challenges
- Track record of overseeing a diverse array of services in a high-paced acute healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with Private Hospital Accreditation processes and protocols
- Proficient in financial legislation, compliance, and financial risk management frameworks relevant to healthcare environments.
