The Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT) seeks a highly motivated and suitably qualified person to join the PMCT team in Tasmania’s Launceston General Hospital as Director of Prevocational Education & Training (DPET) for medical doctors in their prevocational years.
The DPET will, in collaboration with other personnel, contribute to the planning, development and implementation of the various components of the hospital’s prevocational training program. The DPET at LGH will have a particular focus on the education and support of International Medical Graduates (IMGs) as well as PGY1 and PGY2 doctors.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in coordinating medical education activities
- Commitment to the education of prevocational doctors
- Knowledge and implementation of adult learning principles
- Demonstrated communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation.
- Registered Medical Practitioner
Features:
- Part time – 12 hours per week
- Based at Launceston General Hospital
- Contract through 31 January 2025 with renewable options
- Flexibility to work 2-3 days per week. Hours/day negotiable
- Pay scale dependent on qualifications and experience
- Salary package up to $30,000 (grossed up) per year
- Salary package meals/entertainment $5,000 (grossed up) per year plus other salary package opportunities
- Salary range $195,000 - $230,000pa FTE
