Walgett Shire is located in the Outback Region of NSW along the banks of the Barwon and Namoi Rivers. The Shire comprises several towns and villages; including Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Collarenebri and covers an area of approximately 22,000 square kilometres. Each of the towns and villages have their own stories to tell and personalities to meet with the rural charm and country hospitality is found everywhere.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Manager or above to become our Director of this newly created Directorate.
You will be a key role of influence within the organisation and enjoy implementing change and be assisted by several Managers in their functional areas of customer service, economic development (including Visitor Economy), community development and community engagement and you will also have responsibility to manage an impressive portfolio of community facilities.
As a strategic and transformational leader, you will uplift engagement and performance, creating an environment where staff are empowered, productive and thrive under your leadership.
You will nurture relationships with community leaders and develop strategic partnerships with businesses to deliver real outcomes and help shape the direction of the Shire. You’ll also use these skills to develop relationships with funding partners with a view to increasing the inflow of funding to underpin the delivery of services and asset improvements in your portfolio.
