About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised care and support to our participants. You will have the opportunity to assist individuals with various disabilities in achieving their goals and living independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised care and support tailored to the unique needs of each participant.
- Assist participants with daily activities including personal care, domestic tasks and social engagement.
- Implement strategies to support individuals with diverse abilities, including those with autism, communication challenges (e.g. non-verbal) and complex behaviours.
- Foster positive relationships with participants and their families, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records (e.g. shift notes) and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience working with individuals with diverse needs and challenges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Emotional intelligence and a compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Disability, or a related field, such as Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a Certificate IV in Disability.
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
