Whilst experience and / or a qualification in the area of Disabilities is highly regarded, we offer full on the job training and mentoring and assistance with gaining a qualification in our field is also available.
Applicants will be required to have flexibility for shifts, with specific availability for nights and weekend shifts, with the capacity to build a caseload.
Role/Responsibilities:
To provide high quality assistance to our clients, by providing in-home support (such as personal care, domestic duties) and accessing social and community programs and activities by supporting participants rights and choice and control.
Qualifications, Certificates and Licences:
- Possession of a current First Aid Certificate & CPR;
- Drivers licence
- Utilising of own vehicle is essential and allowance is paid for use
- Current Blue Card / Disability Workers Screening Check or eligibility to apply.
- Qualification in Disability Services and/or Community Services is highly desirable
Key Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge of and experience of in-home support and in the community highly desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with disabilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective communication and documentation.
- Knowledge and understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality and
- Knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety Standards
