About the role:
This role will be based in North Melbourne region of Victoria providing assistance to our youth client. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work and provide the services for a leading registered service provider.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist client in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including- medication reminders, personal & self-care, domestic duties, cleaning, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene and community access
- Follow established practices, procedures, care plans and care directions
- Fill progress notes and other relevant care documents for each care and support provision
- Undertake in person, online and other training as directed
- Always ensure you follow compliance requirements as per guidance, regularly checking that you follow best work practices and documentation
- Maintain the highest level of professional integrity and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of client information
- Ensure all support work practice is at the highest quality standard
- Any other duties as directed from time to time.
Essential Criteria -
Skills and Personal Traits:
- Experience supporting children living with disabilities
- Great communication skills
- Empathetic - possess a real passion for caring for our participants
- Ability and experience working with high support needs clients
- Work cohesively with others
- Trained in administering Medication and peg feeding
- Hoisting experience
- Spinal Cord injury experience
- Personal care, including showering and toileting
- Demonstrated time-management skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Must have experience working in challenging environments
- High attention to detail to produce a high-quality standard of work
- Demonstrated understanding of following stipulated procedures.
Experience:
- Have at least one 1 year of full-time work experience undertaken in Australia in any of the following areas: Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (Required).
Qualifications:
- A Certificate III or IV in one of the following (or equivalent): Disability/ Nursing/ Individual Support/ Aged Care. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification (Required)
Licence/Certifications:
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain one (Essential)
- Satisfactory Working with Children's Check (Employee) or the ability to obtain one (Essential)
- Current Driver’s License, your own car and comprehensive/third party insurance (Essential)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or the ability to obtain one (Essential)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (Preferred)
- Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (Preferred)
- Proof of Full COVID Vaccination certificate (Essential)
- COVID-19 Infection Control training
