We seek Disability Support Worker female to work with a Male Participant in Supported Independent Living (SIL) who is available to work Monday to Friday and is also open to work during the weekends.
In this role as Disability Support Worker, you will provide supports on a 1:1 basis.
We are looking for a Female candidate from all different backgrounds who have:
• Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex needs, people with intellectual disabilities inclusive of challenging behaviours;
• Understanding of Person-Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans;
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implication for clients;
• High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Demonstrated high level communication skills;
• Ability to work flexible hours;
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience providing caring, high quality care support to people with disability and complex health needs,
- Qualification in Disability Support/individual support.
- A positive attitude and professional nature.
- Ability to work various shifts and is reliable.
- Excellent verbal communication and rapport building skills.
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar role (desirable)
- Certificate III and/or IV in Disability and prior experience (desirable)
- Emotional intelligence, resilience, and capacity to perform the work required.
