Role Description:
The Disability Inclusion Leader will lead the implementation, management and monitoring of the schools¿ approach to Disability Inclusion. The role will oversee significant resources and funding and provide expert advice to the Executive leadership team on the strategic direction of Disability Inclusion at Edenbrook Secondary College.
The Disability Inclusion Leader will ensure students with disability and additional needs are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals. To do this they work collaboratively with the school¿s leadership, wellbeing, learning support and teaching staff. They also work collaboratively with services/teams outside school, which may include Health and Wellbeing Inclusion Workforces, liaising with Student Support Services key contacts and external therapists. The Disability Inclusion Leader plays a key role in coordinating the team around the learner.
The Disability Inclusion Leader will work with Teaching, Learning Support and Wellbeing staff to ensure the establishment of student support groups (SSGs) for all students who may benefit from a Disability Inclusion meeting and ensure each student with disability and additional needs has a quality IEP.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives. The Disability inclusion Leader is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of the school. They provide a range of services and/or undertake the analysis of complex problems that form part of policy framework.
A role at this range includes: Professional support management responsibilities, including the management of a major school or network function, initiative or project, or Department targeted strategy.
